Juan Talks: Photography Experience
I have always loved traveling; it is my biggest dream as a child and why I choose BS in Tourism Management. However, I am not a fan of picture taking; I appear awkward in front of the camera sometimes, or I don't feel the need to capture certain moments. It is also one of the reasons I was so nervous about this subject, Travel Writing and Photography, because I know that I lack the knowledge and skills in photography. I was so hesitant and unsure if I was doing the right thing or If I was messing up. But I like taking pictures using DSLR cameras, probably because it feels so different taking photos using a professional tool? Who knows?
Nevertheless, I was grateful for this subject and the opportunity to explore my capabilities and hidden talents. I'm not a professional photographer, I even doubt myself, but through this, I discovered how I love photography and would be eager to hone my skills in this field for hobbies or profession. The biggest challenge I encountered while accomplishing the tasks was finding the right moment and angle to capture a photo; in my experience, it wasn't easy to control and focus the camera, especially for someone with almost no knowledge. Along the way, I learned that capturing the best photo doesn't have to be pretty; it must contain a message and visualize and convey a particular concept or meaning as if telling a story.
Photos are the silent medium that speak a thousand words; they tell stories depending on how people see them. Photography is a freestyle element used to deliver and record historical events. When you take a picture and share it with others, you display a moment frozen in time. This minute may reveal a lot from the atmosphere to what individuals are doing. It is probably the most magical thing in photography; it lets you take a glimpse of something you might have forgotten.
Do not be afraid to try something new; taking risks keeps the world moving!
Yay 😁
